A healthy cathartic bit of craftwork, a custom-made exorcism for images. <span style=\"color: #00ccff;\">Using dear old faded photos and memories<\/span>, exhuming them from overflowing dusty drawers that haven&rsquo;t been opened for years, or using a past that isn&rsquo;t ours but fascinates us, and <span style=\"color: #00ccff;\">transforming it into wallpaper full of feeling<\/span>, weighing in balance and memories, pictorial traces and trompe-l&rsquo;\u0153il illusions. Secret, coagulated, personal feelings and emotion, displayed for everyone to see. Jacques Lacan has used this self-reference device as a paradigm for a play on the subconscious&nbsp;: what you would expect to be concealed is concealed by being revealed in the most obvious of places. In the end, the home is transformed into an authentic museum of the soul and an extension of the ego, everything that doesn&rsquo;t correspond to us is thrown out&nbsp;: consoles rocaille, sign\u00e9s sofas and cool design, other people\u00b4s signatures and expectations, disturbing alien symbols. Familiar images put out of focus by early Sixties Ferrania colors, free association and chromatic opulence, macro Polaro\u00efds with a subtle pop substrata to take the place of those multicoloured Zuber and Reveillon papiers peints that were so popular in the early 19th century homes of the nouveaux riches, telling exotic and tear-jerking tales, like the love story of Paul and Virginie, heroic Napoleonic allegories, aristocratic big-game hunting in India, on the invariably blue background of a perfect enamel sky. <span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #333399;\">Peut-\u00eatre que nous pourrions &#8211; ou devrions &#8211; tous le faire. Un boulot cathartique sain et artisanal, un exorcisme sur mesure pour les images. \u00c0 l&rsquo;aide de ch\u00e8res vieilles photos et souvenirs \u00e9vanouis, les exhumant de tiroirs poussi\u00e9reux d\u00e9bordants qui n&rsquo;ont pas \u00e9t\u00e9 ouverts depuis des ann\u00e9es, ou en utilisant un pass\u00e9 qui n&rsquo;est pas le n\u00f4tre, mais qui nous fascine, et en le transformant en <span style=\"color: #00ccff;\">papier peint plein de sentiment<\/span>, entre bilans et souvenirs, de traces picturales et d&rsquo;illusions en trompe-l&rsquo;\u0153il. Emotion et sentiments personnels coagul\u00e9s secrets, affich\u00e9s au regard de tout le monde. Jacques Lacan a utilis\u00e9 ce dispositif d&rsquo;auto-r\u00e9f\u00e9rence comme un paradigme pour un jeu sur le subconscient: ce que vous vous attendiez \u00e0 \u00eatre dissimul\u00e9 est dissimul\u00e9 en \u00e9tant r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 dans les endroits les plus \u00e9vidents. Les images famili\u00e8res mises en \u00e9vidence par les premi\u00e8res couleurs de Ferrania des ann\u00e9es soixante, l&rsquo;association libre et l&rsquo;opulence chromatique, les Polaro\u00efds macro avec un substrat pop subtil pour remplacer les papiers peints multicolores Zuber et Reveillon qui \u00e9taient si populaires dans les maisons des nouveaux Riches du d\u00e9but du 19e si\u00e8cle, racontant des histoires exotiques et d\u00e9chirantes, comme l&rsquo;histoire d&rsquo;amour de Paul et Virginie, des all\u00e9gories h\u00e9ro\u00efques napol\u00e9oniennes, les grandes chasses de l\u2019aristocratie en Inde, sur le fond invariablement bleu d&rsquo;un ciel d&rsquo;\u00e9mail parfait.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><br \/>\nWe propose a new, personal vision of the world, which can be adapted to the anybody&rsquo;s life experience, and can easily be projected along the walls of any room. All the subjects end up looking the same. It&rsquo;s our personal perception of\u00a0\u00a0 a room or of a person, the way we present them, that makes them different. So let&rsquo;s give power to our imagination, to that fine or macroscopic thread of memory, even if it&rsquo;s fictional, and amplify the walls of anarchic rooms which refuse to be categorically catalogued, rigorous aesthetic penchants, or unconditional ownership. Let&rsquo;s get ready to hear the remote, mysterious, persistent echoes that are evoked by those images, with their fundamental harmony, their fleeting, frayed, oblique patterns. However brief the moment when an image is captured, it comes from a rhythm and it starts one, it suggests an end, it celebrates a perfect moment, it&rsquo;s packed with memory. Memory which run through the universe but doesn&rsquo;t have to be melancholy in the least. Memory which, on the contrary, is the glorious witness to what has been, what has existed, a gracious, pale, thin ghost, affectionate and reassuring, emblematic and seductive. The reality of the past has been lost, it&rsquo;s gone hard. We can&rsquo;t break down the wall that separates us from the past, and it&rsquo;s difficult to bring a destiny, a karma, to conclusion.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ff00ff;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\">Nous proposons une nouvelle vision personnelle du monde, qui peut \u00eatre adapt\u00e9e \u00e0 l&rsquo;exp\u00e9rience de vie de n&rsquo;importe qui, et peut \u00eatre facilement projet\u00e9e dans les murs de n&rsquo;importe quelle pi\u00e8ce. Tous les sujets finissent par \u00eatre les m\u00eames. C&rsquo;est notre perception personnelle d&rsquo;une pi\u00e8ce ou d&rsquo;une personne, de la mani\u00e8re dont nous les pr\u00e9sentons, qui les rend diff\u00e9rents. Donc, donnons le pouvoir \u00e0 notre imagination, \u00e0 ce fil de m\u00e9moire fin ou macroscopique, m\u00eame si c&rsquo;est fictif, et amplifions les parois des chambres anarchiques qui refusent d&rsquo;\u00eatre catalogu\u00e9es cat\u00e9goriquement, les penchants esth\u00e9tiques rigoureux ou une propri\u00e9t\u00e9 inconditionnelle. Pr\u00e9parons-nous \u00e0 entendre les \u00e9chos \u00e9loign\u00e9s, myst\u00e9rieux et persistants qui sont \u00e9voqu\u00e9s par ces images, avec leur harmonie fondamentale, leurs formes fugitives, effiloch\u00e9es et obliques. Quelque bref est le moment o\u00f9 une image est captur\u00e9e, elle provient d&rsquo;un rythme et elle advient, elle sugg\u00e8re une fin, elle c\u00e9l\u00e8bre un moment parfait, elle est remplie de m\u00e9moire. M\u00e9moire qui traverse l&rsquo;univers mais ne doit pas \u00eatre m\u00e9lancolique pour le moins. M\u00e9moire qui, au contraire, est le t\u00e9moin glorieux de ce qui a \u00e9t\u00e9, de ce qui a exist\u00e9, d&rsquo;un fant\u00f4me gracieux, p\u00e2le et mince, affectueux et rassurant, embl\u00e9matique et s\u00e9duisant. La r\u00e9alit\u00e9 du pass\u00e9 a \u00e9t\u00e9 perdue, elle est difficile. Nous ne pouvons pas d\u00e9composer le mur qui nous s\u00e9pare du pass\u00e9, et il est difficile d&rsquo;apporter un destin, un karma, \u00e0 sa conclusion.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Where will that path lead us, the one that takes us through a sunny summer landscape, towards the tall trees of a wood, then comes to life in a white lacquered wardrobe full of prosaic proof of existence like clothes and old shoes, used toys, folded blankets, moth balls, forgotten badminton racquets? Maybe some shadowy spirit lives there too, like the Neapolitan Monaciello that Anna Maria Ortese said \u00ab\u00a0lived in a little wardrobe with a broken lock and creaking doors, among piles of dark clothes and green parrot feathers\u00a0\u00bb, where little Margherita sleepily has vague daydreams about the world and her future, \u00ab\u00a0on sun-drenched green meadow that I thought I glimpsed out of the window\u00a0\u00bb. Just as elegant fox hunters in red coats, accompanied by the nervous yapping of beagles, can come alive in a room where there are muddy wellingtons, sticks and crumpled raincoats, because the sensory associations knock down physical barriers. A simple, exquisitely masculine bedroom in Edwardian taste, with\u00a0 a brass bedstead, comics, and a comfortable berg\u00e8re, gives a radiant view of an 18th-century aristocratic British residence. And those everlasting flowers that never suffer or express the beauty of a season, constantly shining their bright colors in a crowded eternal garden, a curtain of gothic delphiniums and foxgloves and, in the foreground, sumptuous lacquer-red kniphofia, dancing extension of the fireplace flames, invincible to frost and heat? Power Flowers and, more than ever, a strange, glorious, intrinsically feminine charm. In the pram there&rsquo;s another sleeping child, surely the owner of the antique highchair and the tiny seat. Like a theatre set, framed by preciously faded curtains, the enlarged image of the two boys looks out from the quiet life of a feminine bedroom. A critical gaze, black-and-white curiosity, a bittersweet reflection of the picture, trapped in its own magic. The mirror is mute, by watching the watcher it is no longer a go-between, a prism giving beauty to shapes, a convector of dancing reflections that are multiplied ad infinitum. Here the outdistancing process can be conscious and reconstruct a solid, dizzying deepness. They are la\u00efc and dreamlike retablos, these huge, fascinating postcards form the past. A classic picnic on the moors invades a kitchen cottage in a Sunday morning mess, the smell of peat, partridges and ptarmigans. Sacred dreamy pink cows, silhouetted on the nuance of a meadow, watch over someone&rsquo;s sleep&nbsp;: straw hats, butterfly nets, Eton columns frame two young dandies in straw hats and club ties, evoking yet other worlds, new roads to take, yet another involving story. The spectator keeps being drawn into the game, falling into the cyclical in-out illusion\u00a0 of a round becoming reality through mutual agreement. He alone is the meneur de jeu, the creator of an autonomous environment, of a kind of tension in the suggestive density of images and the sequence he wants to give them. Ici, le processus de distance longue peut \u00eatre conscient et reconstruit une profondeur solide et vertigineuse. Ce sont des retables la\u00efques et oniriques, ces cartes postales \u00e9normes et fascinantes donnent forme au pass\u00e9.
